Langham Village School is supported by an active group of parents and carers who volunteer their time and energy to organise events to raise vital funds for the school and create a friendly school community.
The LVS Friends organise fun activities and social events for the children and their families, including cake sales, parties, a Christmas Fair, Christmas cards and decorations, an Easter egg hunt, and a Summer Fun Day.
All of the funds raised are donated to the School to invest in equipment, facilities, school trips, and activities for the children. In recent years, the funds raised have bought IT equipment and books, paid for transport for school trips, supported the school Sports Day (by providing the Rosettes and ice lollies for the children), funded the running of the school photocopier, and much more.
The events organised by the Friends, and the funds raised, make a significant positive difference to the experience of the children at the school, and are vital at a time when school budgets are stretched.
The Friends are very friendly and anyone is welcome to join in and come to the regular meetings – it is informal, and all ideas, thoughts, help and input are welcome.
Regular newsletters are sent out by the Friends with information about fundraising and upcoming events.
