Home study tasks are set for pupils at Langham Village School with the purpose of supporting the ongoing progress and achievements for all pupils. Sometimes the purpose of the home study is to practise skills the children have already learned in school whilst at other times the home study task will ask children to apply their learning to a new context. They will not be given work to do at home that they have not learned about in school unless it is for a project which asks them to find out something new.
Home study can inform parents about current learning and it also helps foster good habits of organisation and self-discipline in preparation for later life.
